55:28 minutes Metal Shop - April 21st, 2012 - Hour 4

As usual, we brought things to a crushing halt at 2am with the stone-tastic segment "The Dubsack" where Ryan the Beard chose to play Omega Massif. We then jammed Slayer's version of In A Gadda Da Vida and gave away tickets to go see Kittie and Blackguard at El Corazon. Gym Rat Matt busted through the door and demanded to be heard, so he threw on some Down. Later in the hour we gave away tickets to see Negura Bunget and ended with some Alcest.

46:00 minutes Metal Shop - April 14th, 2012 - Hour 1

Welcome back to Metal Shop! This week, Ian was on tour, so I (Kevin) was joined in the studio by Metal Shop contributer Travis "The Virus" alongside current intern Ryan The Beard and former interns Callum, Jabroni John and Chip. We started off the show with Cephalic Carnage into Woods Of Ypres then gave away tickets to see Opeth, Mastodon and Ghost. Around 11:30 we introduced the Intern Olympics, a test of might and strength to find out who is the ultimate Metal Shop intern. Round 1 was a disgisuting feat an energy drink chug.

The 2nd hour of this week's show began with From The Vault, where we played classic NWOBHM band Angel Witch. We gave away tickets to see Demon Hunter ar 12:15, then threw it into overdrive with the intern Olympics round 2: the metal trivia challenge. Listen for pure failure all around. The second half of the hour was devoted to Travis The Virus' top 5 metal songs of all time.

The 1 a.m. hour started with the heaviest and most uncompromisingly brutal 15 minutes of radio in the Northwest,hosted this week by Katen Burgess, host of Dead Air on Green River Community College's very own college station KGRG. He chose some tasty jammers this week including Cattle Decapitation and Spokane's own Losing Skin. From there, we held the third and final round of the intern olympics, which was a true test of metal strength - the death metal growl test. Listen to find out who wins.

The final hour of Metal Shop this week started with the newest segment, the stone-a-licious, "Dubsack," where intern Ryan The Beard chose two tracks by doom-meisters The Abominable Iron Sloth. After that, we threw on some classic Acid Bath and gave out tickets to go see Behemoth and Watain on 4/20 at El Corazon. Ryan The Beard played us some obscure Indonesian grindcore, we jammed some new Black Breath and ended the night with Agalloch. Adios and horns up!

Welcome back to Metal Shop! This week's episode started off with a brutal track by Krisiun. Our second song of the night was a brand new track by High On Fire, which kicks total ass. We then gave away tickets to see Demon Hunter at El Corazon, debuted some Acephalix, interviewed local band Psychonaut Deathtrip, then gave away tickets to see Sepultura at Studio Seven. Bam!

For the second hour, we started off with a request for Cannibal Corpse then threw it back a few years with our "From The Vault" segment where played some classic death/doom by Sorrow. After that, we jammed some thrash-tastic Sacred Reich, played a new song by Accept and gave away tickets to go see the satanic black mass that is Behemoth and Watain at El Corazon.

As usual, the 1 o'clock hour began with the 15 most brutal minutes of Metal Shop, Caught In A Mosh, where we debuted a new song by Disfiguring The Goddess, then jammed some Abomidable Putridity, Terror and Violation. Kevin brought us into the always classy metal Shop lounge for "Brutal Poetry," as he recited the lyrics to a General Surgery song. We later gave away tickets to Paganfest at Studio Seven.

Our fourth and final hour started off pretty stoney with our newest segment, the "Dubsack," where we played a weed-tastic jam by Sleep. After that, we played some classic Pantera then threw on a brand new track by super-Swedes Meshuggah. It was at this point that the tyrannical bro that is Gym Rat Matt took over for his "Gym Jams" segment by playing some Jasta. We then gave away some Rammstein tickets, played new 3 Inches of Blood and ended with some more Psychonaut Deathtrip.

Welcome back to Metal Shop, y'all! For the first hour of this weeks program, we started off with 2 brand new tracks, one by classic thrash band Overkill and one by new school thrashers Municipal Waste. We gave out tickets to go see Rammstein at the Tacoma Dome in May, then welcomed Aaron and Brandon Smith, 2 brothers from the local band 7 Horns 7 Eyes. We talked to them a bit, then played a couple songs off their forthcoming Century Media debut, "The Throes Of Absolution." We ended the hour with a brand new track by ex-Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis, produced by Aaron himself.
