Today Ian sat down with Bill Kelliher (guitar) and Brann Dailor (drums) of Mastodon before their show at the Showbox Sodo with Opeth and Ghost. They discussed the current tour, and the evolution of Mastodon with The Hunter. Bill and Brann explained a bit about their Record Store Day releases and commented on the recent demise of Roadrunner Records UK. They finished off by showing off their scars and gave some final words for the Northwest audience.

Tonight's From The Vault featured Cradle Of Filth's first full length recording: The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh, released in 1994. We gave away Chimaira tickets, played new Absu and aired the second portion of our interview with Mikael from Opeth. Some valiant callers did their best Halford impressions and won themselves tickets to the farewell Judas Priest performance here in the north west.

This week's Caught In A Mosh featured Decrepit Birth, Vomit Remnant, Condemned, Xibalba, and Wormrot. We also gave away tickets to Firewind, and in case you didn't get enough heaviness, Brutal Poetry featured Cryptopsy's Benedictive Convulsion. We aired the third portion of our interview with Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth this hour and concluded with an epic tune from Electric Wizard. We gave away tickets to Chimaira, played a Judas Priest cover done by As I Lay Dying from their forthcoming record, and announced when Toxic Holocaust will be coming back to town. We gave away tickets to Opeth also this hour, and ended with the band that will be opening for them - Katatonia.

From The Vault tonight featured Exhorder - The Law from their 1992 album of the same name. We gave out both Death Angel and Opeth tickets this hour, and also played new music from both Skeleton Witch and Absu. Pantera and Dethklok requests rounded out the second hour of tonight's show.

Tonight Metal Shop's old-school segment, From The Vault, featured Tourniquet! Ian's Mom also picked some French metal tunes this week, and we gave away tickets to see Grave. New Opeth was debuted this hour and we continued our ticket giveaways with both Parkway Drive and Vreid. Hour 2 ended with War Of The Gods by Amon Amarth!

Caugh In A Mosh started tonight with new music from one of Chicago's heaviest bands: Harm's Way. We went into Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer, and gave away tickets to Impending Doom to end the segment. A new song by Mayhem headliners Machine Head was played this hour, we announced the Opeth show October 15th at the Showbox Sodo and also played new tunes from August Burns Red and Periphery. We dumped garbage on our new intern John, and ended the night with tickets to YOB and Samothrace July 1st at El Corazon. See you next Saturday night!
