Today we spoke with Wolf Hoffman, one of the most influential guitarists in heavy metal. He plays for a classic band by the name of Accept, and they are coming to town Saturday September 22nd with Kreator and Swallow The Sun at El Corazon. We talked a bit about their new record Stalingrad, the Accept songwriting process, and some older tunes that Wolf would recommend the Metal Shop audience. Wolf told us a bit about his current guitar setup, and some of the best German metal bands.

Later on this hour we gave away tickets to see Eyehategod, Prong, and Black Breath at Bumbershoot and aired a portion of our interview with Paul, the drummer of the mighty Cannibal Corpse. We also gave out tickets to Devin Townsend Project and Katatonia, as well as debuted another new song from Ensiferum!

\m/ Welcome back to Metal Shop - 4 hours of brutality and debauchery each and every Saturday night on KISW! We began tonight with a rager from Pulling Teeth into a brand new brutal track from Cryptopsy. New Faceless followed by Dying Fetus and Fear Factory took us into our interview segment with classic Northwest band SANCTUARY! They told us a bit about their new record, when to expect it, and to come out and see them play some of their new songs next Saturday at the Studio Seven 10th Anniversary party.

Tonight's 2am Dubsack featured new music from Hooded Menace, and then we hit you with another new song from local band Stealing Axion into MORE new music from King of Asgard! We aired another of Kevin's interviews from his trip last week to California's Sound And Fury - This time with Nick Jett, drumer of the crossover band Terror. We hit last call and called it a night here on Metal Shop by playing some Lamb Of God in solidarity with Randy Blythe and his current incarceration in the Czech Republic. Welcome back to Metal Shop - your weekly four hour dose of brutality! We began tonight with new Immolation into some classic Iron Maiden to get the feel right. Tonight we were happy to announce the return of the almighty GWAR to the Northwest on November 10th at the Showbox Sodo! Halfway through this hour we talked with Jon Shaffer, OG guitar player and member of the band Iced Earth, who just put out a huge comeback record this year and are kicking ass on the road currently.

Hour 2 tonight began with our oldschool segment From The Vault where we shine a light on some underrated yet influential bands. Tonight we heard from Forbidden, an older thrash band from California who put out an awesome record in 1990 by the name of Twisted Into Form. Later on we heard from Garbo Kevin, who was on location in Santa Barbara for Sound And Fury Festival. He interviewed several bands and we heard his conversation with heavy-hitters Xibalba.

Early last week Ian got to talk to Jon from Iced Earth about their new record, his side project Sons Of Liberty, the state of the music industry and downloading, the future of Iced Earth and their newest material, and finally he answered our scar question. Tonight's heaviest segment, Caught In A Mosh, featured Hatebreed, Dying Fetus, Years Of Tyrants (Intern Ryan's Choice), Maggut, Regurgitate and Magrudergrind. Shortly after CIAM we aired a portion of our interview with Corey Taylor of SLIPKNOT, and entered the realm of Brutal Poetry, where tonight Ian recited a lovely ditty from technical Death Metal masters Necrophagist. Somehow our resident lunatic BRO broke into the studio and we all received a dose of Gym Jams from Gym Ratt Matt featuring Lamb Of God. Free Randy!

Today we sat down with Pat and Tic Tac, faithful owners and employees of Tacoma's own Hell's Kitchen. They announced their closure this week, so we heard a bit about the status of the venue and some memories about Hell's Kitchen days gone by.
