Today we sat down to talk to Erik Rutan, singer and guitar player of Hate Eternal about their new record Phoenix Amongst The Ashes, producing his new record, and working as a producer for all types of music genres. Erik gave out some advice for up and coming bands looking to record, and also told us a bit about some of his own favorite producers. Go see Hate Eternal with Origin, Vital Remains, and Abysmal Dawn on Friday June 24th at Studio Seven in Seattle.

Welcome again to the realm of Metal Shop! We started tonight with new music from both Black Dahlia Murder and Gigan, followed shortly by tickets to see Children Of Bodom. We played an oldschool request for King Diamond and discussed All That Remains forthcoming performance at this Summer's Pain In The Grass at the White River Amphitheater. We also gave away Becoming The Archetype tickets this hour and ended with new music from Revocation.

Tonight's From The Vault featured Paradise Lost! One must always pay homage to the metal heroes who have come before! BTBAM was played this hour, we said hello to our new intern John, and played new music from Toxic Holocaust. We played a short cross section of our interview with Erik Rutan of Hate Eternal this hour, and gave away tickets to their show June 24th at Studio Seven. Local bands Fallen Angels and Phalgeron were played this hour, and we ended with Slayer covering Ina Gadda Davida.

Caugh In A Mosh started tonight with new music from one of Chicago's heaviest bands: Harm's Way. We went into Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer, and gave away tickets to Impending Doom to end the segment. A new song by Mayhem headliners Machine Head was played this hour, we announced the Opeth show October 15th at the Showbox Sodo and also played new tunes from August Burns Red and Periphery. We dumped garbage on our new intern John, and ended the night with tickets to YOB and Samothrace July 1st at El Corazon. See you next Saturday night!

The tail end of new Book Of Black Earth started this hour, followed shortly by our oldschool segment, From The Vault. FTV this week featured Incubus (the thrash band not the crap fake nu-metal band). We mentioned the passing of Seth Putnam of AxCx, played new Morbid Angel (the good one) and gave away tickets to see Children Of Bodom. THe Men's Room talked some smack on our intern Chip, and new Sepultura also appeared toward the end of the hour.

Our heaviest segment Caught In A Miggity Mosh started tonight with Dysphoria, into Converge, Disgorge and was rounded out by Suffocation. We played our Test Text Track of the night with a song from guitarist Tony MacAlpine. We got a call from jail tonight, and gave away tickets to Forbidden, Revocation, and local band Sword Of Judgement. Sgt. Hairclub said his heartfelt goodbye to our intern Chip, and Chip gave us his final farewell speech. New Exhumed showed up this hour, as well as old Metallica and many more! See you next week!

Welcome back to Metal Shop! And congratulations on surviving the end of the world! We started tonight with Slayer into Morbid Angel, and shortly afterwards gave away tickets to the Rockstar Mayhem Festival. The second half of this hour was owned by Book of Black Earth, our guests in the studio this evening. They played several new songs off of their record The Cold Testament out May 24th on Prosthetic Records.

Tonight's Caught In A Mosh featured all bands that are playing Rainfest 2011 - the only completely DIY annual hardcore festival in the Northwest, and it's all going down on Memorial Day Weekend. We opened with Owen Hart into Black Breath, followed by Losing Skin and an interview with Greg Bennick of Trial. Local band Funeral Age also showed up this week, and we gave away tickets to see Orange Goblin. The show rounded out this evening with Gojira and Forgotten Tomb. Thanks again to Book Of Black Earth for coming up to the show!
